I am a begginer also, My teacher is the best, how ever i dont live any were near you or in the state, but there are videos called veena and neena and they teach basic to every thing you need to know to do belly dancing it is really a great tool to use. Please do not give up on your search for a teacher keep searching. i hope this helps.
