Aaaand you're an idiot. For the most part, yeah, you're right. The Masamune (Sephiroth's sword) was a holy sword. It doesn't absorb blood. Blood completely avoids the blade, just like the leaves in the rive did. The Murasame (I'm not sure about the length, but nine feet long seems a little TOO long) is an evil sword, and, no, doesn't excrete blood, blood will come in contact with it, just like the leaves.
The Masamune and Murasame were placed in a river. Leaves were floating down the river, facing the cutting edge of each blade. For the Masamune, the leaves came close but did not touch the sword. For the Murasame, the leaves went to the sword, and were cut.
Also, Tifa wasn't killed. Aeris (Aerith, whatever) was.
