The std arrangement is a pipe from the drive side of the intake cam as described by LAB.
You will be better served by running this to the ground via a small filter as sold by hotrod shops for rocker cover vents of US V8 engines.
Crankcase vent products will block the U loop in the std arrangement and you will get gasket weeping.
People who do not know will tell you that dumping oil in front of the rear tyre is not a good idea, that is silly as you will get about 1 drop per 10 mins and anything that leaks from the rockerboxes etc will end up down there anyway.
I have a well sorted and high mileage '69 TR6.
