Your main jets do thier thing at full throttle so you reduced the size. Maybe accounts for the differance although I think 230 mains are rather big.Did you change the needle setting ? that effects 3/4 throttle and is more mixture related. Maybe you made it too rich and is lumpy around 60mph. At 70mph it should be purring and chomping at the bit to take you to dangerous speeds
