Braided stainless is great but be aware that in many states of Australia a picky vehicle inspector will knock you back for a roadworthy cert, braided is non-compliant due to limited bend radius, BS in our applications but thats the law.
Melbourne Metisse over on Britbike does brake hoses and such for a crust, he is actually licenced to do this and has to tag all his hoses with an ID and date.
Replacing hoses is a really good idea, I recall reading the owners handbook of a Jappa I had many years back and in bold print it was stated that all brake hoses must be replaced at 5 yr intervals.
There are lots of post '74 bikes getting around with original hoses, and a front brake failure is a quick way to end up dead or seriously close to it.
If you are in Melbourne or close Nigel [Melb Metisse] is a good bloke to talk to re this subject.
