All the spanners and such that the blokes mentioned, spare joining link for the chain and spare cables.
Modern wet batteries tend to be pretty crappy too, a very small gel battery will get you out of trouble there.
I carry a $10.00 multimeter as well.
Big reliability issue is worn tyres, you do not want a flat, I carry small CO2 bottles and a small bottle of tyre slime, getting the rear wheel out of my stock pre OIF is a PITA on the bike bench much less on the road.
For a fun ride head up through Windsor/Putty and through Singleton then Dungog to Gloucester.
Get premium unleaded where you can and be prepared to shandy down with a little std fuel before you run out.
You should be OK for Prem fuel at Singleton, Dungog and Gloucester.
Both the New England and Pacific Hwys are boring and potentially dangerous.
If you go NNW out of Gloucester up Thunderbolts Way you should get good fuel at Armidale then NNE to Grafton/Lismore/Kyogle/Murwillumbah.
Excellent ride if you so choose, good preparation means good luck.
