My best mate had one of these in Blackburn, UK, back in 1992. It was clearly an ex-police bike as it still had the white panniers fitted plus a wide variety of mysterious brackets and fittings no doubt for flashing lights, radios and sirens.
I rode the bike on several occasions and found it to feel exceptionally smooth. I helped out with maintenance and discovered that the rubber engine mounts are adjustable in places and they seemed to be in need of almost constant tweaking.
Tridentman's development story makes perfect sense to me however, from a purely observational point of view, I'd have to say that the rubber engine mount set-up with it's Norton Isolastic system look to it, seemed to me to be less concerned with vibration harmonics than simply isolation of the engine.
One thing I would give the AV is 10/10 for it's entertainment value - at a fast tick-over the engine vibration of my bike would cause it to slowly drag itself along my concrete yard, but my mates rubber mounted engine used to bounce around inside his frame like an agitated frog!
cheers!
Rudi
