camshaft problem

HI OUT THERE,Heres a good one for you,replaced both camshafts and just about everything else in my T140E engine 600 miles ago,had an oil leak from the rear push rod tube so decided to sort it out,got her to bits and what do i find? both cams are showing an excessive amount of wear as are the cam followers.Have checked oil ways,pump seems to be working fine.As you can imagin I am at a loss,dont know whats gone wrong,need some help,any suggestions would be appreciated.
