HI Guys,
I have bitten the bullet and decided to change the fork seals on my 79 T140D. A little different than previous models.
I,ve removed the left fork and dismantled it, but I had a problem removing the old oil seal from the lower leg ( a bit of heat did it ).
My problem is that the old seal is a one piece interference fit and the replacement I bought from British Spares NZ has a thinner seal and a steel retainer. What goes where?
There is no recess in the fork leg to take a circlip.
The parts book shows a seal ,a retainer and a circlip, can anyone help? Pics would be great.
