I recommend that you get a copy of the factory T140V manual?
Either as a 'genuine' reprint (expensive) from Andover Norton who now own JR Technical, or the Kim Triumph CDs which contain a vast amount of Triumph information for about the same price, or buy one of the much cheaper photocopy factory manual versions from Bruce Main-Smith or British Motorcycle Parts/Spares.

Or you could use the 5-speed info in this online pdf copy of the 1972 650 manual (section DV)

But do be aware there are certain differences between the '72 5-speed box and T140V 5-speed box, such as the camplate leaf spring used on the 650s of that period and the (obvious enough) left foot change mechanism added to the 750s for '75-on.
