since posting this,i found info which may help,most failures have to do with brass piece in front or rarely but did happen to me brass end cap falls out and drive gear falls out,if you keep all old broken ones with parts and j b weld?you can put one back together,i am skepticle about epoxy holding brass to the pot metal body with chain lube etc present,but i have at present made one up from old parts and its working.also i noticed on one of mybroken ones i broke it,central ring smashed i overtightened rear wheel!watch out for this.
