Unfortunately, you haven't mentioned which make of tyres, and that can be a factor when determining the tyre pressures, as well as the tyre loading weight?
However, 22 & 24 psi would probably be a bit too low for modern tyres?
For instance, the Avon pressure recommendation for a 1970 T120 fitted with their new Roadriders would be 29 psi front, and 33 psi rear.
