<<As for oil pump service what should i be looking for and do i need a service kit ect?>>
I suggest you remove the timing cover and observe how much oil leaks from the pump over a day or so?
If there isn't much leakage, but the level in the frame reservoir has still dropped significantly, then the oil is probably finding its way through the feed side ball valve, in which case the ball and spring will probably need cleaning, and maybe the ball re-seating?
The valve body plugs/caps could be very tight?
If a large amount of oil is leaking from the pump feed plunger and bore, then the pump could be worn and need replacing? Or the oil could be escaping from the pump to case joint where there should be a gasket?

Go to section A6-A7 of the pdf manual in the link, which gives all the information necessary to service the pump.
Note that the manual is for the 500cc models, but the oil pump info is the same for 650/750 models with the two valve pumps.
