After years of rubbing along together, the 'ball and socket' arrangements form a nice snug fit where pushrod tips meet tappet/actuator.
When you mix and match pushrods around (and don't feel bad, we've all done it) those fits aren't so tailor made any more and you can get a bit of chatter until things settle down again. This can happen after a few hours or never, it just depends on your luck.
Keep an ear open for change, see how the bike runs and, after a while, recheck your valve clearances.
