Not wishing to cause alarm and despondency but---
Particularly on very old rotors (original fitment) it has been known for the outer part of the rotor to come adrift from the core part.
This is very difficult to identify because in a static situation the magnetism obviously keeps things appearing to be together.
The way to identify it is to grasp the outer of the rotor with a big pair of grips and try to move it relative to the core of the rotor.If you feel any relative movement then the real answer is a new rotor.
If you have this problem it could well give rise to the three line symptom you have seen.
Hope that I am wrong but it is well worth checking out.
