Carb/body/slide ware

Which is most likely to ware on a Mk 1 carb,I can hear the slide rocking on tickover and with the air filter off can stop this happening with slight finger prssure on the slides..is it the boddy or the slides. I can remove them and measure boddy diammeter relative to slide...what should they be new..?
