I think the cable should go through the tunnel in the tank Simon, there was a very loose cable tie under my tank just to stop the cable itself falling out of the afore-mentioned tunnel and hanging loose. Don't tighten it up though, just enough to stop the cable falling is ok. It's a shock when the throttle sticks open eh? It's worse when the cable breaks and you ride the bike home using the loose cable direct from the carb!!! EEEK!
