Gearbox Mainshaft oilseal

Hi Guys,recently adjusted my primary chain,went for a run and now have what smells like a gearbox oil leak. Have I over tightened it? Does the seal need replacing? Is it a gearbox as well as clutch removal exercise? Regards Bun
