Got to agree with Rudi.....I've got a Hayward drive on my '82ES and its brilliant!
High quality piece of kit and dead easy to fit Much lighter than that orrible triplex chain too. First thing you notice is how much smoother the engine feels. Seems to be a lot less vibration. Guess that's because you haven't got all that metal thrashin' about. Think the slight 'flex' in the belt also helps to absorb transmission snatch.
Well worth giving Tony a bell, if your seriously considering this mod. He's a nice guy, very helpful and really knows his stuff.
I've made a few mods to T140's over the years and frankly some were hardly worth the effort, but can't say the same about belt drive, I think it's been worth every penny.
