Pre-'78 models had no outer side panels (except for the 1977 Jubilee models).
So the chromed 60-4150 name plate (that carried either "Bonneville" or "Tiger" sticker) screwed directly to the metal panel and plastic airbox cover on each side.
In which case, the square hole in the metal panel would have held a 'Spire' nut for the rear name plate screw.
The small 'rear' hole in the plastic airbox cover held a 60-4153 rubber (anti-rattle?) plug, and the forward airbox hole was the forward name plate mounting.
Later ('78-on models with outer side panels) had an additional 60-4153 rubber plug fitted, blanking off the (now unused) front name plate mounting hole in each airbox cover.
