It has a T140V light.
Officially the the T140E was launched in 1979 but there were "crossover" machines in late 78 which looked to all intents like a T140V with the exception of the parallel port cylinder head.
Technically ONLY T140E machines have the console as well as the T160 trident of course and later 650 Thunderbirds.
The crossover T140E had the headlight shell and points ignition of the T140V and confuses people to this day. Not many were made though.
If you check the engine/frame number you will be able to determine the exact production date of the machine, the fact that it has a 1981 registration means little.
