it sounds as if it is an earlier bike.
My 79 has underslung disc, but console and EE under a finned cover. It has black "moulded" switchgear that's die cast and painted black which also acts as carriers for the levers
I don't know if the earlier E's had a neutral switch? ( look for the wires under the engine)
You say Neutral, Oil, Ignition and Indicator.
Oil light lights up then goes out - no "ignition" light but you should have a main beam warning light?
