Thanks for al the advice regarding my ignition trouble, well for better or worse I've fitted a wassell ignition system. Well made, started second kick & has been fine so far. Does anyone else have any experiance of wassell?
Solve a problem & another arrives on que. Took the missus for a run Sunday, all was well so we were moving along at a pace when vroom the chain breaks.I dont know what happened so after the motor hitting the red line I close throttle am coast to a halt with the clutch in. well thanks to some great guys I am on the road again within the hour with a new chain, fitted at the road side. The wife found the old one down the road, it was knackered & should have been replaced before.
With the new chain fitted I go to start up & the clutch slips, I try again & after a few kicks it bights & starts. We ride home steady but the clutch slips on hills & can easil be encouraged by opening the throttle. We get home but now I cant start for clutch slip.
The clutch was new last autumn, has been fine to now, there is free play at the lever, operation is smooth, Should I adjust the springs to cure the slip or has the chain snap caused some clutch damage somehow ? Some times It seems like will have to stop work & be a full time Bonnie mechanic ! Any ideas would be appreciated.
