It's a Veglia isn't it?
If so, then it's probably cheaper and less trouble in the long run to find another used Veglia at around £40-£50 (ebay?) or get one of the: "Made in the Far East" Smiths/Veglia replica instruments which cost about £50-£60 each.
Used Smiths instruments are usually more expensive than Veglia.
