We bought two one inch long water turtles at Santee Alley in Los
Angeles the day before we flew back to Alaska.
After some web searching it appears the turtles were water turtle
hatchlings which were sold illegally. Several people in the LA airport
said they had them too.

What temperature should the water be for a hatchling and how
big do they get? I bought some turtle food but I'm not sure if I
should supplement more for a hatchling? I've also been getting
conflicting advice as how often to feed them (every day to once
every three days). (and just a pinch of dried shrimp or one piece
every day)
in an aquarium with two inches of water now and have two areas to
bask. Should I make the water deeper? One turtle is much livelier
than the other. They both swim and eat and move around but one
sleeps a lot more. Is this common?
