My friend has an adult female RES she rescued from an owner who couldn't take care of her properly. She says the turtle is displaying a "salmon-colored" plastron, especially visible when dry. Not the whole belly, just a wide section (1-1/2") going horizontal then fading, and one vertical too, sort of fading into rest of shell. She didn't mention if it was soft or anything, I don't think so.
She did mention that she's having trouble getting the turtle to bask. Eating is healthy, although she just goes for mostly the protein foods, some variety. Turtle is taken out of the tank for romps around the room, just so she can dry off and get some exercise.
Is the salmon-colored underbelly reason for concern?
Thanks for any help on this-
