Is Algae Eater with Red Ear Sliders in Tank Safe?

Hi, I have 2 red-eared sliders and wanted to know if it would be safe to put an algae eater in the tank with them. Would the addition of the algae eater create tension or fights within the tank? I've never seen or heard of anyone doing this, so I wanted to make sure it was safe before I tried it. Thanks, micheley
