No problems keeping them together. I have a common plecostamus in with my turtles for 6 years now. Pick out a fish the same size as the turtles. The fish is great at cleaning up after the turtles. A word of caution though, fish do not take well to ordinary tap water due to water hardness. You will have to filter the water before filling the tank during water changes.
