My first tank was a 125 gallon deal. I would suggest keeping the setup as simple as possible as it will take longer to clean with more stuff in the tank. Using large substrate like river rocks will be faster & easier to clean. Keeping the water in the tank circulating with a visible current will help keep the water from turning cloudy. I would recommend 2 Eheim 2227 or Fluval 403 type filters to keep the water clean. 1 filter might suffice if all feeding is done outside the tank. Filter media should be ammonia eating pellets, activated carbon, & polymer fill. The water hose usage I have pictured on the site will speed up the drain & refill process. If you like lots of exercise then carrying buckets of water back & forth to the tank will keep you in shape! If the floor of the room is carpeted, I would suggest keeping plastic tarp on hand to keep the carpet from getting dirty during tank cleanings. The tank may require water chnges every month to a month and a half depending on water circulation. The turtles will love the additional exercise room they get!
