Do turtles???

Do turtles make a fart? When mine swims I see bubbles release out of rear end. Not always happens but I see sometimes. If this is the fart, could this be caused by wrong food types? My turtle also floats on top of tank a lot. Doesn't seem like he can sink down at all. Could wrong food cause gas buildup. Please help. I feed him pellets and hoppers I get from outside, also littles fishes. Thanks for the help.
