Posted by Sharon Boyd-Davis I noticed under Sgt. Ingram's photo, he rec'd the Liberation of France Medal. I have been trying to find information on the "who's & how's" regarding this medal. If my grandfather earned one, he should have it with his other medals. So I would like to inquire about getting it. Thank you, --Previous Message--

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I too have suffered a tremendous loss this year. My grandfather, S/Sgt Teddy Sutherland, Co.L, 342th Inf. Reg., 44th Div. passed away on June 12, 2005. He was a remarkable man and he is missed very much. The WWII generation was a generation of proud, strong, moral, and courageous citizens who had incredible inner strength and determination. They gave of themselves without a second thought. It is sad to hear when another member of this great generation has passed, yet we are thankful that they can now rest at peace. This great country of ours has just a handful of WWII veterans left. Tell the stories, don't forget the men & women who did our country such a great service. I hope every veteran, in their hearts, believes we are thankful they did their jobs.
