Does anyone recall hearing about Pvt. George W. (William) McClanahan who served in Co. D of the 324th INF? He served from Feb. 13, 1942 - Nov. 15, 1943. I'm not sure if he went over sees, but I know he was a "gunner" and the reason he was discharged was because his eardrum was blown out. George was my grandfather. After getting out of the service he became a highly decorated police officer and ended up dying of a heart attack in 1966 at the ate of 45. My father was only 6 when he died. He was from Ohio. If any one has info about him I would greatly appreciate it!!!
