My father was also on the same ship, he was assigned to the 10th Station Hospital. Have you located a copy of your Grandpa's ship manifest? If so that is about all we have in common. If not, he is located on image 560 of 843 of the manifest. Email me if you care to, I am still trying to find out about my Dad's assignments, etc. Good luck, Jackie

: Just recently my mom gave me something that my
: grandpa carried around with him while he
: fought overseas during WWII. My Grandpa
: died almost 12 years ago so I was never able
: to talk with him about this. His name was
: Oliver Wesley Binns, but I always knew him
: as Wes. Accoring to a piece of paper that I
: found, he was part of Hq. Co. 3rd Bn.-324th
: Inf., 44th Inf. Division. He sailed home on
: July 15, 1945 from Gourock, Scotland on the
: H.M.T. "Queen Elizabeth". I have
: found some old pictures among his things but
: the names on the back of been rubbed off in
: time. I am hoping someone knew Grandpa
: during his time overseas and could tell me
: more about this time in his life and also
: where he served at during WWII. Maybe he is
: in an old picture or something. He is
: orginally from Cincinnati, Iowa if that
: helps. If you have any information on him,
: I would love to hear from you!!
