My Father was with the 44th Division. He enlisted at Newburgh, NY. Later was sent to Fort Lewis, Washington. While there he was sent to Copalis Beach, Washington where his unit installed power and communications lines for the Costal Artillery units from Pacific Beach to Brown's Point. He then was sent to Overseas and fought with the 44th in the ETO. After the war he returned and served as an OCS instructor at Ft. Momouth, NJ teaching a Cable Spicing course. He passed away in 1982, my Father was always proud of his time with the 44th Division, I still have his unit soldier patch as well as all his medals.
