I'm a collecter of the above mentioned sabers (Model 1902). I recently purchased one with the followin inscription: "A token of appreciation from Service Battery, 156th F.A." Engraved on the saber's hilt are the initials: "W.B.M." which I assume are the officer's initials. I don't know if this is WWI or WWII, Regular Army or a Guard unit. Can you help me find some information on this gentleman and/or his unit Thanks
