Trisha, more information is needed. There were 3 Inf Regiments in the division, and each one had an A Co. Also there were A Cos in the Engineers, and the Medical battalion. A database of names from the histories of the 44th has been maintained for about 17 years. If you are interested in a particular veteran, the database may be of help to you.
