Hello Russky
Other than sleeping, it has been a while since I've gone more than about an hour without smoking.
When I am 'free to smoke', be it at home, a bar, etc., it's very rare for me to go longer than a few seconds without a lit cigarette (or more). Most of the time, I am exhaling the remains of my last as I'm lighting my next. This is, in my opinion, exactly how it should be. My addiction needs the nicotine constantly, and I need to keep it happy, and feel the wonderful smoke in my chest
At work, I usually go about a half hour between cigarettes. I have my work to focus on at least, so I don't go climbing the walls. I can tell you that after a half hour, it is definitely time for me to smoke.
After about an hour, I get cranky and I know it. I do some basic meditation techniques, but that doesn't last long. I usually can excuse myself though, and go out to the car to "get something" and pull a few much-needed doubles into my body.
My electronic cigarette has helped when I go on half-hour shopping trips, though, as I am able to do things in comfort and not have to feel pushed by my addiction to hurry up and get smoke flowing into myself again. I still step out at a half hour to smoke properly, as I need to
I do not believe I've gone longer than an hour since my incident with my apnea about a year ago. I can tell you, though, that was HORRIBLE. I was a complete wreck, shaking hands and everything. Not something I wish to repeat.
