Everyone has an accent of some kind I feel....or a dialect would be a better word. Many easterners say that we in the Pacific NW talk way too fast and tell us to SLOW DOWN. There is nothing wrong or any impressions that should come from an accent whether it's Southern or English or even Austrialian. You need to base merits on who the person is and not what they sound like in my opinion that is.
You talk to me long enough you'll find a slight southern drawal to the toneage in my voice...so does that make me Southern....and the reason for that is that both my parents were from the South and I was raised there part of my early years and it is still there in my voice.
