Hello Dick I just finish talking with Jim Hatield from Oltewah,Tennessee and he his wife got a couple momentos from you with Uss Sterlet written on them. He was indeed a happy Camper today,Father's Day 2008. We taled about the old days on the Sterlet from recommissioning 1950 or so at the Mare Island shipyard in Vallejo.
Jim has kept in touch with Captain George Kittrege and last contact he tells me Captain george had built his own hang glider glider. Such a legend with us he has to be in his 90s. His only reply now is ,"Green Board!" and he one of the great submariners of WW11.
