The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. If a man goes to jail, or gets addicted to drugs, more than likely it'll happen again. You can try to be his savior, but he'll more likely be your downfall. I'm speaking from experience. I got out of the relationship, but not before it changed me forever. I paid a great price for this wisdom and give it away freely: use it at your own risk!
Try and find him. Don't wait for him to call you: track him down. You're probably the best thing in his world right now.
