Several girls that I casually dated, or even just flirted with, with whom the relationship never really worked out became pretty good friends of mine. The key here is that I didn't really care about any of these girls in a romantic way, and they felt the same about me. They would ask me about their boyfriends...what were they thinking when they did this or that, what they could do to talk to a boy they liked that they were afraid to talk to... etc. And I would do the same. I would mass email three or four different girls to get their opinions on something in a relationship, then compare their advice to what I think the girl I was with would think. In that way, I learned a great deal very quickly about how to act in a relationship. And as stated earlier, when it came time to have sex, I was very aware of what about five different girls found good, and as a result, I was a better lover. I kept in touch with at least one girl all the way up until I got engaged to my wife, when the last girl I was talking to moved to ohio and didn't leave a forwarding address.
