I'm sure skye was a cool kid, but so are a lot of other boys. Being in love at 16 is a terrible, wonderful thing. Wonderful because the feelings are fresh and new and 100 times more intense than they will be in 10 years, and Terrible because you have no way to express or act on them appropriately. I wish you luck, and hope you realize sooner than I did, that while love is terribly wonderful, it is not exclusive to one person, and that you will likely fall in love many, many times before it sticks.
It sounds to me like there wasn't anything you COULD do. Perhaps you could have acted on your feelings when you had the chance, but it is hard to take that kind of step when you are so young and inexperienced (it is just as hard when you are older, but you at least have a clue what to do). I would say that it isn't the end of the world. You could meet him a again someday, or perhaps not. Either way, you will be fine. If this boy fancied you, others will do the same.
