I know exactly how you feel. I'm going through a similar break up right now, only its my girlfriend who didnt know how to love me. In fact she was afraid to love me and she said she tried so hard to. We were together for almost 12 months now, and its harder than I ever expected it to be. If you really want to be friends with him and continue your relationship that way, then you should write a letter and tell him that. I'm think its great that you have the courage to do that, its something i wanted but never could pull off. Give yourself time to really think about your relationship. If you decide that your really wanna be friends, then just write it and send it to him. I think theres always a chance that you two can be together. Never give up and keep strong.
