generalizations are a dangerous place to go. A few use braid and our beaches have little wash or snags ,plus it was a fad for a time but not so much anymore. It worked well for me for years but not so good under full power in casting for distance. Times change along with fishing fashions. braid is good but mono is more user friendly know doubt about it
