Thank you, Rex. There must be a reason for the aversion of using braid leaders in Hawke's Bay but I can't fathom what this would be. I have used braid for many seasons and found it very successful. The knot between the leader and the main line is very small and this is definitely an advantage. The only thing I can think of is the need to use heavier leads but casting only 3 ounces is a dream.
I guess only time and experience will tell.
