was chatting with a fellow overhead caster at the club and he was saying that in SA they thumb brake on the edge of the spool, not on the line, as it is smoother and doesn't jerk the line. I've always just thumbed the mono but that has primarily been when rock fishing and the spool is not really spinning as fast as when I'm sending baits to the horizon.
Thoughts from fellow o/h casters?
