Well here it is and only a week early this year. The rain that is hammering down now is the sweetner that will bring the big snapper in.

When the rains of August fall
    and the blossoms are forming
The snapper come in to waters that are warming.
Full of spawny thoughts and hungry too
Even a mug can catch a few.
    So get out your gear
    and get out tomorrow
Its only for a few short weeks
that you can become a hero.
Deciding where to fish is the big pain
Try Whakaki or Blacks or even the Drain.
Early snapper will be crab hungry and fat and long
Dont cast too far or use light line
These snapper are big, solid and strong.
I will be out there and guess you will too
    Theres snapper a plenty
    so go get a few.
