Only a couple of weeks to go to the end of the Pania Club 2011/12 season. Last year I took some time off and Sue and I chased down a big snapper....
Well now its time to try again. We are off to all points north up Mahia way and conditions are looking primo. Mahanga might be about to make amends for a slack season on all species. Conditions have been difficult on field weekends and many anglers in the club have given up on the beach. I am prepared to give it another chance. With a 0.2 m. swell prediction this week and seasonal timing just right for a big Autumn snapper we a hoping for some success. I will report back. If that doesnt work there are about fifty other beaches to try on the way home!
