I don't bother with a shock leader if using 10kg. Seems to hold well straight to the leader swivel with a uni knot. I double 6kg at the knot. Sometimes double the 8kg. Got out last weekend on the beach and got 2 fat snapper, both 33cm. Not been out this weekend. Might try through the week if time allows, but unlikely.
