    It is a general saying due to shit weather and cold snaps come from a southern direction...... During this, the sea is usually crap and even in sheltered bays the fishing is very hard......

    Not always the case though.

    A few times in BOP, when I have been fishing in a shitty westerly wind, the fish having been biting their tits off.... Each time it has swung to the south, the sea has fattened off, and the fishing became very slow and hard going. This could have somthing to do with pressure systems, who knows, but it is usually the case...
